Appreciate the Power of Images
What we allow our eyes to see affect us to the very core of who we are. What we show others affect the people around us. The photograph on the left is a picture of Buzz Aldrin posing on the Moon as Neil Armstrong takes the picture.
A single photo can be small step for man and can lead to a great leap from mankind. Images provoke emotion. They move people. They allow people to see from the perspective of the one who is showing. Photos in a way make people pause and reflect on the moment of time that is being delivered to them.
Several months ago, there were a couple of posts on the Leechon blog site about images and how people sometimes use them to drive people in a certain direction. The post was titled,”Photo Distortion and Sometimes Deception” and another post about Making a Photo Journal. I advise you read those articles and heed the advice of the writer.
In this post what I want to share with you are some words of wisdom from a legendary filmmaker Ken Burns. Some of you may be familiar with the name due to the effect on Mac’s iMovie called “Ken Burns Effect” where you can take an image and give it some dynamic sense. I want to share with you the purpose behind the photo and using that in telling your story of message.

I love this guy’s work, mashallah. We study him in digital media classes.
sadly, I didn’t get to see the full effect of the video, temporarily no sound, but InshaAllah I’ll watch it…but I read the post you linked to and they’re awesome..this will inspire me to do a video completely of linked pictures, InshaAllah… (and by the way, Abdullah Z. S., you should link your video where you only had pictures and you got hit by a car…(explantion:facebook)).
